The Nelson County Education Endowment Fund, Inc. is a school and community partnership focused on acquiring and distributing funding for students in the Nelson County School District. Our mission is to enhance, enrich and supplement learning opportunities beyond those provided by tax money. We have awarded 180 classroom grants worth more than $85,961 since 2001.
The NCEEF relies on corporate, civic and individual donations to serve the schools of Nelson County. Contributions received from 2001 through June 30, 2011, total $159,095.98.
We also hold a charitable gaming license (#1540). By using this license, schools, classrooms, organizations and athletic groups can host bingo sessions and conduct split the pots and/or raffles.
A small portion is used for operations. The Fund hires a part-time development director and assistant. All other functions are carried out by our volunteer board of directors or by community and school system volunteers.
Through June 30, 2011, as a result of the Fund’s grant program and charitable gaming license, Nelson County Schools and school groups had received $352,016.78.
